This piece is a great reminder that "inarticulates" are not limited to "um" and "ah." They also include words that are being used in a way that is not grammatically correct or helpful. Learn more: https://lnkd.in/ePrTqNySAnd, DM me if you'd like support from Spoken with Authority to reduce your use of inarticulates and increase your speaking polish.

I agree that it's about reducing and not necessarily "eliminating." I like a well-placed, "Well..." for conversationality.

Proud to call Lisa Richard a friend and Spoken with Authority colleague. She's an incredible #coach and #facilitator. But you don't have to take my word for it . . .

Feedback on sessions at law firm partner retreats can be . . . BRUTAL. That's why I'm so proud of my Spoken with Authority colleague David Henderson who recently received these rave reviews: "This was the best and most practical experience I had at the [retreat], bar none. It was very practical and very efficient. The speaker was outstanding and had realistic expectations and practical pointers that I will use often.""I thought it was great, would have loved more time or a second session. The key takeaways including the amount of practice that's required and helpful hints on presentation." "Yes, even though I've attended numerous of these types of presentations, this one had suggestions that I hadn't heard before."Please DM me to learn more about having David or another SWA facilitator help you win rave reviews at your next retreat!

Oral communication skills are necessary to become an effective leader. If your organization is planning a leadership academy in 2025, we at Spoken with Authority can help participants hone these skills. See our suggestions on how you can integrate oral-communication programming at the beginning, middle, and / or end of your leadership academy. If you'd like to schedule a call with us to discuss further, please book a time using the link in comments. https://lnkd.in/edjth8z8

"Nothing like working your way out of business."One of our Spoken with Authority coaches said this after a client, who worked with us last year on an annual speaking event, didn't ask us to help again this year. The reason? The client felt so confident in the strategies and tools we taught them last year that they were able to prepare for (and do a great job) on the speaking event this time around without our support! 👏👏That's a fantastic way to "lose" business. But, in the long run, everyone wins. Our client is able to find speaking success independently, they will recommend Spoken with Authority to new clients who need to hone their presentation skills, and there will be a net increase in speakers who are communicating effectively. Please DM me if you'd like to learn strategies and tools that will allow you to find success as a speaker long after your training program or coaching engagement with Spoken with Authority!
