This incredible dessert is simple and easy to throw together. You can have it prepped and cooking within minutes!

You can use any type of baking apples or any combination of them that you prefer, but I honestly love Granny Smiths.

They hold up well to the baking and give that perfect sweet and sour flavor that counterbalances the sweet oat toppings and sugars in this dish.

I love making this easy apple crisp recipe because it’s much less work than making an apple pie and it has a lot less dirty dishes created too (and who doesn’t love that?)

Not to mention, adding a scoop of vanilla ice cream or whipped topping to a warm plate of this Betty Crocker Classic Recipe and your a hit.

How to make Instant Pot Apple Crisp?

  • Peel and core your apples. Leaving half the apples with peels will help keep the shape and texture of the apples when cooking in the Pressure Cooker.
  • Slice apples into wedges and cut each wedge into 3 or 4 chunks.
  • Place your apples to the bottom of a pressure cooker.
  • Add in sugar and cinnamon, and then toss to coat.
  • Add in the water.
  • In a separate bowl, combine your oats, brown sugar, flour, and spices, mixing to combine.
  • Take a cold stick of butter and run it over a cheese grater. Add those butter shavings to the oat mixture with a pastry mixer or a fork to combine the ingredients and make the crumble.
  • Add the crumble over the top of the apples.
  • Set your pressure cooker to manual/pressure cook for 1 minute. Allow for up to 5-minute natural release. The longer you Natural Pressure Release the softer the Apples will be.
  • Open and serve your apple crisp while it’s hot and add a dollop of whipped cream or scoop of ice cream if you choose.

How to reheat Apple Crisp?

Apple crisp tastes good warm and cold, but if you want to reheat it I can’t blame you.

Unlike other foods, it can handle being reheated and taste great regardless.

You can portion out a plate (or bowl) full and microwave it until it’s warm or transfer it to a baking dish and heat it in the oven for a few minutes (about 15) until the apple crisp is thoroughly reheated and warm throughout.

How long does Apple Crisp last?

When kept in a tightly covered container in the fridge, your leftover apple crisp can last up to 4 days and still taste great.

What to serve with Apple Crisp Recipe?

I already mentioned how great this recipe pairs with vanilla ice cream and whipped topping, but it also will make you lick your lips when drizzled with caramel sauce too.

It’s a fairly simple dish that honestly doesn’t need to be served with anything extra to feel like it's complete.
