Newly hired full-time and part-time team members may take advantage of Northwell’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program, in partnership with 1199 SEIU Healthcare Workers Union, and receive up to $10,000 in student loan forgiveness for select imaging, laboratory technologist, respiratory therapist and surgical technologist roles at designated sites*.

• An approved full-time team member will be eligible to receive $5,000 at the end of their first and second year of employment, for a total of $10,000, to assist in the repayment of one or more of their approved student loans.
• A part-time employee will be eligible to receive $2,500 at the end of their first and second year of employment, for a total of $5,000, to assist in the repayment of one or more of their approved student loans.
• In exchange for the payments, the team member commits to remaining employed in an approved full-time or part-time position and title at Northwell for at least 24 months from the date of hire under the program.

Eligibility requirements:

To be eligible for Northwell’s Student Loan Forgiveness Program, the newly hired team member must:

• Be employed in an approved, full-time or part-time position at Northwell Health for the entirety of the eligibility period (24 months)
• Have a verified degree in a required field, as determined by Northwell Health
• Register any applicable student loans with our third-party vendor, SoFi

*Participating Northwell sites through December 31, 2024, include: Cohen Children’s Medical Center, Lenox Hill Hospital, Lenox Health Greenwich Village, Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital, Long Island Jewish Medical Center, Long Island Jewish Valley Stream Hospital, Manhattan Ear, Eye and Throat Hospital, Northern Westchester Hospital, Peconic Bay Medical Center, Plainview Hospital, Syosset Hospital, South Shore University Hospital, Staten Island University Hospital and select Northwell Ambulatory Imaging Centers.
